What are the categories of machining centers?

Classification of machining centers. 

According to the state of the spindle in the space, the machining center is often divided into the vertical machining center and the horizontal machining center. The vertical machining center is called the vertical machining center when the spindle is in the vertical state in the space, and the horizontal machining center when the spindle is in the horizontal state in the space. 

The spindle can be converted vertically and horizontally, which is called vertical horizontal machining center or five-sided machining center, also known as compound machining center. 

According to the number of columns in the machining center, there are single-column type and double-column type (gantry type). 

According to the number of moving coordinates of the machining center and the number of coordinates controlled at the same time, there are three-axis two-linkage, three-axis three-linkage, four-axis three-linkage, five-axis four-linkage, six-axis five-linkage and so on. 

Three-axis and four-axis refer to the number of moving coordinates of the machining center, and linkage means that the control system can control the number of moving coordinates at the same time, so as to realize the position and speed control of the tool relative to the workpiece.

According to the number and function of workbench: there are single worktable machining center, double worktable machining center, and multi-worktable machining center. 

According to the machining accuracy: there are ordinary machining centers and high-precision machining centers. 

The resolution of the ordinary machining center is 1 μ m, the maximum feed speed is 15025m / min, and the positioning accuracy is about 10 μ m. 

The high precision machining center has a resolution of 0.1 μ m, the maximum feed speed is 1500m / min, and the positioning accuracy is about 2 μ m. 

Those between 2 μ m and 10 μ m are more than ±5 μ m, which can be called precision level.
